Retail

  • A retailer must offer a good range* of locally produced food and drink from within the agreed area
  • Must offer locally produced food and drink all year
  • Must promote and communicate the local products/range they stock to their customers

Hospitality

  • Must offer local produce on their menu throughout the year
  • Must demonstrate that the locally produced food offer and drink is communicated to their customers
  • Must demonstrate that staff are trained in the origins and provenance of these local dishes
  • Can include local products which are allowed in the producer’s criteria
  • Must be prepared to demonstrate quality through an existing accreditation scheme or self-accreditation
  • Must offer at least one local product on menu throughout the year
 
 

Wholesaler

  • Must offer a good range of locally produced food and drink from within the agreed area
  • Must offer locally produced food and drink all year
  • Must distribute to at least 50% of the agreed geographical area
 
 

Producer

  • Livestock must be farmed within the given area for at least 50% of its life
  • Must produce products within the geographical boundary allowed
  • Can use imported ingredients but these must be processed and value added within the boundary
  • May not only re-sell products from outside the area
  • Be able to demonstrate that products are produced or marketed as locally produced
  • Any fish products must be caught off the coast of Hampshire, West Sussex or East Sussex or from rivers within the area or have value added in the area
